Cold War Crime Thriller.<br /><br />Moscow 1980. At the height of the Cold War Professor Alexander Kladen, the world's leading geologist in the field of oil exploration, lives a quietly isolated life, disillusioned with the Communist State but content in his work amongst the rocks. <br /><br />Then one day, completely unexpectedly, a young East German exchange student, Wilhelm Winters, is assigned by the Politburo to study with him. The pair soon depart to an oil drilling facility in one of the remotest regions of the Soviet Union. Before long Winters unearths a dead body. A report is made to the relevant authorities, but completely ignored. So with the aid of local Militia Officer, Mihail Klasky, the unlikely trio commence an investigation of their own.<br /><br />And then Wilhelm Winters suddenly displays a conveniently uncanny ability for forensic investigation, and his evidence cannot be ignored. A murder inquiry ensues that will quickly lead to deception, betrayal and the cold heartless steel of the KGB pistol.<br />
