DESCRIPTIONS

The Classic Prayerbook Catechism, first drafted by Thomas Cranmer, added to in 1604, and bound together with the 1662 Book of Common Prayer as "A Catechism" has been here slightly updated for contemporary use. The language has been ever so slightly modernized ("Thou" has become "You" etc.) and the questions have been arranged for use in a series of nine weeks. A number of suggestion questions developed by Bishop Beveridge (1637-1708) have been extracted from his commentary on the Catechism and added under each Catechism question, to suggest lines of investigation the Catechist can follow. All answers have also been "indexed" onto the larger ACNA Catechism, 'To Be A Christian' for those seeking additional catechetical answers on the topics at hand.
