About Frey Scientific Electronic Balance, 150g

The Frey Scientific electronic balance has a high-contrast LCD display that shows results in standard grams (g) and Newtons (N), a recessed sample tray with stainless steel pan, a weigh-below hook, overload protection up to 200lb., a flip-top draft shield, a security bracket, a stackable design, a load cell lock, and runs on either batteries or AC power. The plastic housing with molded spill ring protects the balance from environmental influences and spills, and the stainless steel pan is removable for easy cleaning. The balance uses either AC power or three AA batteries. The power options support full mobility in the field, and when a power supply is unavailable. The auto off function automatically powers off the balance to conserve power. An integrated shipping load cell lock protects the weighing cell during transportation or storage. Overload protection up to 200lb. prevents damage to the load cell if weight capacity is exceeded. An integrated below-balance weighing hook suspends bulky items beneath the balance for weighing. A built-in security bracket (cable not included) for locks and cables protects the balance from unauthorized use or theft. A snap-in module (sold separately) provides RS232 or USB connectivity to print or transfer data to a computer. The balance is covered by a one-year warranty and comes with instructions. Balances are measuring instruments used to determine the mass of an object, while scales are used to measure the weight of an object. The measurement results from balances are generally considered to be more precise compared to results from scales. Mechanical balances are the simplest type of balance, and use a lever and slide to indicate the measurement. Conventional balances are commonly used in offices, the jewelry industry, and in kitchens, and display results digitally, but are less precise than analytical balances. Analytical balances measure to a high degree of precision and accuracy (0.0001 g or better), and display results digitally. These balances have a cover with doors to prevent dust and airflow from affecting the measurement. Moisture balances analyze moisture content in a material sample, using infrared or halogen heat sources to dry the sample and then calculate the moisture content from the before- and after-drying weight, and display results digitally, on the balance, or transfer the information for display on a computer. School Specialty provides instructional materials and supplies under dozens of brands, among them Think Math, Delta Education, Frey Scientific, Childcraft, and School Smart.
