About Spiraling Manhattan Bridge

THIS ARTWORK: This work is an encircled panorama of Manhattan Bridge with a view of Manhattan downtown behind it. The original panorama was taken from under the bridge area. This work was on display as part of AlexAG exhibition in MORA museum. ENCIRLED PANORAMAS: This work is made in a technique of encircled panorama: the photograph converted to circular system of coordinates. The artist's proprietary techniques brought this method to the new heights an allowed to turn the plain landscape into philosophical phenomena studying the idea of a gap between objective and subjective view of the world. ABOUT MORA MUSEUM: Since its founding in 1980, The Museum of Russian Art (formerly the C.A.S.E. Museum of Russian Art in Exile) has been paramount to the introduction of Russian art to American audiences. Its core collection largely culled from human rights activist Alexander Glezer's private holdings. Throughout the 1980s and early 90s, notable artists first exhibited outside Russia at MoRA including Skate's 5000 notables, Erik Bulatov, Alexander Kharitonov, Dmitry Krasnopevtsev, Evgeny Kropivnitsky, Lidia Masterkova, Vladimir Nemukhin, Ernst Neizvestny. Currently the museum is offering several works from its collections aiming to secure funding for the institution and extend it's reach in artistic community of tri-state area.
