Chrome Oxide Green is a high-purity inorganic metal oxide (99%) or 2N, product with the chemical formula: Cr2O3, CAS: 1308-38-9. It is best known as a strong green pigment that can be found in certain candles, ceramics, soaps+. Specifications: * 99.0% Purity * Typical Particle Size Distribution (um): D10: 0.149 D50: 0.281 D90: 1.997 * Insoluble in water & organic solvent. Reacts with strong or oxidizing acids/alkali at elevated temperatures. Pigment Usage Notes & Tips: * (Soap, Candles, Suspended Pigment): Chrome Oxide Green does not tend to bleed or fade, and generally has good UV resistance. * (Soap & Certain Pigment Projects): Blending the pigment with oils or glycerin before adding it to the mix may help blend and suspend the pigment powder. * (Dye-Colorant Compatibility): The pH of the mix as a whole may affect certain dyes and colorants. * (Ceramic Glazes): Chrome Oxide Green can create various colors, particularly greens, under a wide range of firing temperatures, and can be used in both oxidation and reduction recipes. Other glaze ingredients can greatly affect the resulting color Ex: zinc-brown, and recipes with high a high ratio of lead can create varying colors depending on the other additives. * (Ceramic Glaze): The general recommended usage is up to 2-3% for a dark/intense color; glass (~1%). * It's always a good idea to run a test-batch when using a new material or trying a new recipe.
