About 440C Stainless Steel Sphere, Grade
The 440C Stainless steel sphere has a mirror-like finish, meets American Society for testing and materials international A276 and A756 and SAE aerospace Material specifications ams 5630 specifications, is grade 100, and has a precision tolerance. The 440C Stainless steel grade is wear resistant, offers mild corrosion resistance, and can be heat treated to very high hardness. It can attain higher hardness than 440a and 440B when in the hardened condition. A martensitic Stainless steel, 440C is magnetic. The mirror-like finish provides a bright, reflective appearance. Stainless steel is an iron Alloy with resistance to staining and rusting in many environments where steel would typically degrade. The chemical composition of each grade creates a grain structure that falls into one of five Classes: austenitic, Duplex, ferritic, martensitic, and precipitation hardening. The austenitic Class contains the most formable, weldable, and corrosion-resistant Stainless steel grades, but they cannot be heat treated. The Duplex Class offers high resistance to pitting and Chloride stress corrosion cracking.
