Lacking the video of the same title for which Ancient Alien is the soundtrack, one can only imagine what sort of visuals accompany this techno-oriented CD, with a healthy mix of electronic music and sound processing. If you have a disco ball (preferably with a blue light bulb), that would be ideal accompaniment to this recording, which combines ambient sounds with driving rhythms. Occasionally things get a little more laid back, as on Pentatonik's "Devotion," which almost swings, or on the understated "Hypnosystem," an offering from A Positive Life. Of all of the pieces on this CD, which is as much a compilation as a soundtrack (all of the tracks were previously on other Waveform Records releases), "Triangle" is probably the most interesting, with a low-key, rattle-based rhythm and a subtle melodic structure. Those who favor acoustic or electro-acoustic arrangements may not find much to listen for here, but electronic music fans will definitely want to sample this. --Genevieve Williams
