Previously he served as chairman of the biblical counseling department at The Master s University and Seminary in California. He was a board member of NANC (now the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors) and FIRE (Fellowship of Independent Reformed Evangelicals). He also counseled and taught at CCEF (Christian Counseling and Educational Foundation) for fifteen years. Wayne and his wife Carol have been married since 1957. They have four adult children and twenty-two grandchildren. He has written twenty-six books on biblical counseling and practical Christian life issues. Dave Swavely (MDiv) is a teaching elder in the Presbyterian Church in America.
