About The Boston Rob Rulebook: Strategies For Life

Product Description Boston Rob Mariano gained notoriety from his exploits on the hit CBS reality show "Survivor." The four-time player also gained a great deal of respect for his physical capabilities, social awareness, and his strategic, outside-the-box way of thinking. Now Mariano has compiled a list of personal life lessons in his first book, The Boston Rob Rulebook: Strategies for Life. Through his signature wit and no-nonsense personality, Mariano shares some of the wisdom he's gained over the years, both growing up in Boston and through his experiences and adventures as a reality TV personality, and how he's applied it to his life to find success and fulfillment. The result is a collection of solid, practical, straight-forward advice delivered with Mariano's distinctive voice and perspective. About the Author Robert Carlo Mariano was born at 4:52 p.m. on Christmas Day 1975 at Boston Lying-In Hospital (now the Brigham and Women's Hospital), about a mile away from Fenway Park. He grew up in a loving family in Boston's Hyde Park neighborhood and later in Canton, Mass., along with his two siblings, Heather and Michael. At Xaverian Brothers High School, Rob developed a love of golf and helped his team win the state championship. He was also a member of the school's varsity ice hockey team, the Hawks. He has a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Boston University, where he coached in-line hockey and played rugby. Rob made his first television appearance on CBS’ “Survivor: Marquesas” in 2002. His compelling performance resulted in a repeat appearance on “Survivor: All Stars,” where he was the runner-up to his wife-to-be, Amber Brkich. He proposed to Amber during the live finale of “All Stars,” and the two were married in front of millions of viewers on a two-hour CBS prime-time special, “Rob and Amber Get Married.” Rob has been a contestant on two additional Survivor seasons, “Heroes vs. Villains,” in 2010 and 2011’s “Redemption Island,” which he won, making him the only person to have appeared on Survivor four times. He is also a two-time competitor, along with Amber, on CBS's “The Amazing Race.” He has also hosted numerous other programs on a variety of networks. Recently he has focused his attention on his production company, Murlonio Productions, LLC, which is currently developing new and innovative projects in the television and entertainment industry. Rob is an avid golfer and poker player, and, as you can probably guess, a huge fan of all things Boston. Whether it’s the Patriots, the Bruins, the Celtics or his beloved Red Sox, you can always find him rooting on his hometown team. Of course, being Italian, he loves food and enjoys playing chef for his four favorite girls—his wife, Amber, and his three young daughters, Lucia Rose, Carina Rose, and Isabetta Rose.
