A new recording featuring piano virtuoso and award-winning actor Hershey Felder in his critically-acclaimed one-man musical play. Hershey Felder BEETHOVEN brings to life the composer as it dramatizes the true story of a Viennese doctor who spent his boyhood by the Maestro's side as the son of Beethoven's best friend and who cared for the composer at the end of his life. This production is based on the original Aus dem Schwarzspanierhaus by Dr. Gerhard von Breuning, with text by Felder, and features some of Beethoven’s greatest compositions including the Fifth and Ninth Symphonies, “Moonlight Sonata,” “Pathetique Sonata,” “Emperor Concerto,” “Für Elise” and more. Described by American Theatre Magazine as "a seductive portraitist, compelling storyteller, and superb concert pianist," Hershey Felder has performed over 5,000 performances of his self-created solo productions at some of the world’s most prestigious theatres and has broken box office records consistently.
