Our headboard halyard shackles, sometimes called tack shackles, are precision cast with a captive pin. The captive pin means you will never lose the pin in the water as it will remain attached to the body of the shackle, even when it is open. This longer d-shackle is used to attach halyards to sails, even ones fitted with headboards hence the name.
