About Morel Mushrooms Mycelium Spores

Morchella Elata Morel Mushroom, Black Morel. Morchella elata is very similar to a Morchella Esculenta. It is difference by a darker color and larger size of the fruit body (apothecia). The cap-shaped part is narrow, conical, 4-10 high and 3-5 cm wide. The surface is covered with approximately triangular cells, bounded by more or less parallel vertical narrow folds. Cells are olive brown, mature mushrooms are brown or black-brown; Partitions are olive-ocher; The color of the fungus darkens with age. The scaboid part of the fungus is cylindrical, granular, 5-15 cm high and 3-4 cm thick, at the apex in diameter almost equal to the cap. The young mushrooms have a whitish leg, later - yellowish or ocher. Morchella elata is rare in the wild, found in small numbers. It grows on soil in coniferous and deciduous forests, often on grassy glades and fringes, in gardens and orchards.
