T-5500 Hot Melt Dot Reinforced Repair Material - Non-Slip - Wetsuit / Drysuit, Scuba - 30cm Width Suitable for a wide range of applications but is most commonly used for knee pads, seam reinforcement, all types of repairs, seat pads, elbow pads, glove facings and also external decoration on wetsuits, dry suits, waders, fishing, canoe / paddle waterproofs etc. It has excellent durability and resistance to salt water hydrolysis. Not only does it add strength to the seam or repair it also remains flexible after application. T-5500 is used by major manufacturers of neoprene Wetsuits & Dry Suits throughout the world and is a tried and tested product. We have been successfully supplying T-5500 to the industry for more than 15 years. Application Instructions: T-5500 is applied using a hand iron or heat press. The temperature needs to be on a medium / medium hot setting 135-150 deg C- the dwell time is the important factor and this can only be determined by experimentation - suggest in the region of 10 seconds (possibly longer depending on material thickness) with pressure applied. Ideally apply the T-5500 to a small piece of waste fabric first to test adhesion strength - after test application and allowing time for cooling pull back the edge and you should feel a strong resistance. For a good seal to be achieved the temperature must be hot enough for the adhesive to be flowing / molten and pressure must be applied across the full width of the patch.
