Rye berries have a firm, chewy texture and mild walnut-like flavor that makes it a hearty baking grain used in a variety of different breads and baked goods as well as hot cereals. This versatile grain is also great for accenting salads, soups, stews, pilafs, stuffings, or served on its own as a hearty substitute for rice. It can even be used to make rye whiskey or spawn mushroom cultures. Rye berries are the whole-grain form of rye with only the hull removed, and they are high in dietary fiber, amino acids, selenium, magnesium, phosphorus, and B vitamins for a highly nutritious grain. While not gluten-free, rye berries are lower in gluten than wheat to meet a variety of dietary needs. Our high quality rye berries are non-GMO and certified Kosher Parve, and one 10-pound box is included.
