About Hi Jax & Hi Jinx: Life's A Pitch - And Then You

Product Description Hi Jax & Hi Jinx is a black-humored, edgy social comedy based on the real life experiences of cartoonist and musician/ performance artist Dame Darcy, creator of the comix series Meat Cake. Her Gothic Lolita‐punk/dada life is itself is a in a no‐holds‐barred fight for social justice. Allying herself with witches, minority races, the LBGTQ community, billionaires, and Native Americans, Dame Darcy takes on reality TV, Self-Publishing, fine art exhibition, Movie production, the Patriarchy and the soaring cost of higher education. Like a mash up of Siouxsie Sioux and Alice in Wonderland. From the Author Dear Reader, I am a citizen of the world and can remember my first life in Atlantis. So because everywhere is equally alienating, I can live anywhere. I was born in the Rockies like Coors Light, where I learned to defend myself and other LGBTQ through the terror tactics of witchcraft. After seeing Splash I had a 5 year plan of escape, and a life goal: to become a Mermaid in NYC. After winning a scholarship due to my weird comic Meat Cake, I had the fortune to be educated at the fancy art school SFAI in San Francisco where I was taught by some of the greats. George Kuchar, Kathy Acker, Caroliner Rainbow, and Suckdog. I started my life in NYC in a Squat on Ave C and ended up an apartment in Soho engaged to a lawyer from Long island. Making hilarious horror movies with Lisa Hammer and other experimental filmmakers from the East Vilage. Also befriending and collaborating with rockstars and other celebrities in the global art scene. After witnessing 911 I moved to LA to become bi , (costal, polar, and sexual) . Subverting reality TV in the process in the name of feminism and to promote my comic book Meat Cake. During this time I got my movies optioned, graphic novels published, and fine art exhibited despite the culture shock and PTSD from being a 911 witness. Moving back to NYC eventually. Throughout everything, my own Mermom was an inspiration. Dedicating her life to empowering women through family planning in public health care, and being an environmental activist with a particular focus on the ocean. All I wanted my work to do is to inspire and empower other weirdos, and be able to have the time to be an ocean advocate and activist. I have to own all my faults, freakishness and pain in order for myself and others to be free. Now living in Savannah in order to affford a giant house to make into a hotel based on Meat Cake, I am currently working as a Sea Captain, and full time mermaid doing dolphin tours to bring the general public to nature. I was born on the “Day of the Spark” and tend to be polarizing. Inspiring Love or hate. That’s just how I be. Also that’s why I can relate to Adam Ant’s song, all those who get to know me, become my admirers or my enemies. Though, I don’t want everyone to be my “admirers” but instead companions, and comrades. I want to be an equal support system to others and hope they will do the same for me. If your reading this book twenty years from when it was published, please assume, that any of the opinions and views on situations have changed, (hopefully for the better). Magic Mermaid Blessings , Dame Darcy About the Author With 50 plus graphic novels (and ongoing) cartoonist Dame Darcy is published internationally.
