This is the second most common style of jika-tabi in Japan, the Purple/Navy ("kon" in Japanese) version has a somewhat sturdier construction than the Fighter. Currently Taro tabi are available in sizes from 23cm through to 30cm (minus some half sizes) with 12 fastening tabs which brings the height about half way to the knee. The external material is purplish blue cotton with a tan, flexible-rubber bottom. The inside is lined with a thin, aqua-marine, cotton material and the insole is a thick cotton padding. The sides and back are extra-reinforced with patches of cloth making these the most durable jika-tabi available. US sized listed are men's sizes, for women's size just add 1 (e.g. US 7 -> women's 8).
