The auto darkening filter quickly darkens after striking an arc to maintain optimal viewing. The auto darkening filter also reduces the need to flip the viewing lid, which can be stressful on the neck and a distraction while welding. The viewing area provides a field of view that allows the welder to see the work in progress with minimal obstruction. This welding helmet features edgy graphics depicting a boneyard collection of skulls. Recommended welding applications include metal fabrication, assembly, mechanical and metal repair. One Helmet Works for Three Types of Welding This fully assembled welding helmet with ADF (Auto Darkening Filter) offers sensitivity adjustments for use with most Stick (arc welding), MIG (Metal Inert Gas) and TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) welding applications. The welding helmet uses an auto darkening filter that can be adjusted for different shades based on the welding amperage. The viewing area measures 1.73 inches high x 3.66 inches wide and has excellent optical quality.
