Acousti-Coat is a thick, soft coating designed to act as a 'sound sponge'. Deadens sound within the area / room the sound is created in. For sound coming from other areas, use our SC 1000. Use Acousti Coat and your neighbors hear you less. Use SC 1000 and you hear your neighbors less.

Coverage is 50 square feet per gallon for the minimum two coats required. This means unless you are applying to a small 50 square foot area, one gallon isn't enough.

ThermaCels included in this paint! This provides insulation properties as well. Do not add additional ThermaCels additive to this product.

White Flat Finish. Can be tinted using universal colorants, to light or medium shades. If a darker color is required it can be painted over but a very cheap flat interior paint must be used. Using a high quality paint will seal the surface of the 'sound sponge' and diminish results.
About Acousti Coat - Sound Deadening Paint - 5 Gallon
This product is unlike anything you are familiar with, as it is the only product of it's kind in the world. Please read carefully. Acousti-Coat is heavy bodied, water-based, flat latex paint formulated with ceramic microspheres and sound absorbing fillers. The combination of a high loading of ThermaCels with their vacuum centers reduces sound produced in the area it is applied; the soft pigment fillers absorb sound and prevent it from bouncing off the surface. Noise reduction in the 500Hz (500Hz is mid frequency of the human voice) is reduced by up to 30%!! Acousti-Coat is for use on interior surfaces such as primed drywall, ceilings, walls, plaster, metal and wood. This product is an inexpensive, easy-to-apply surface coating with superior sound absorbing properties, as compared to conventional paints. Acousti-Coat not only reduces echo and tinniness in an area, but due to the heavy concentration of ThermaCels, it also provides a highly reflective heat barrier to the painted surface. This reduces heat intrusion into the adjoining rooms. This product is designed to act as a 'sound sponge' and absorb sound from within the room (home theaters, churches, meeting halls, cathedral ceilings, etc). It is meant to be thick (thicker sponges absorb more) and applies at a rate one third less than standard paints. One gallon will cover 100 square feet per coat, and two coats are required, so the effective yield of a gallon is 50 square feet. While some customers have had good results using this to deaden sound coming from *other* areas (through walls or ceilings) that is not the primary purpose for this coating. SO UNLESS YOU ARE PAINTING A 6X8 FOOT AREA....ONE GALLON IS NOT ENOUGH!
