The Zipbolt 17.800 XT Post Anchor is designed for surface mounting exterior posts onto decking areas, porches, and verandas. The new design offers five anchoring screw points with the central screw being the longest. After screwing the base plate onto the long shaft and tightening it to the deck surface the initial connection is extremely secure. This is then further secured with the four supplied construction screws. The base plate is 3 1/2" (89mm) square and is ideal for most post sizes with the advantage that it will not protrude past the post and it elevates the post, preventing moisture at the post bottom. Since the plate is flush with the post, this application is perfect for sliding PVC sleeving straight over the post. Then just tighten the post to the deck using the Zipbolt gear drive system and a 6mm hex bit. The base plate can be routered into the base of larger posts, completely hiding it. It can even be used indoors for those who want or need the extra durability. The black finish is double epoxy coated and acrylic baked for maximum protection. PATENTS GRANTED AND PENDING
