🌱Let's talk about Soil!🌱 This is our professional all-purpose soil mixture. This soil mixture has been designed and blended in-house by our professional team at The Bonsai Supply. This is the exact same soil mixture we use in all of our YouTube Videos, called We Are The Bonsai Supply. It is good for any Bonsai that is repotted every 1 - 4 years and it can also be used for herbs, orchids, cactus, succulents and all other container grown plants. All ingredients listed below play such an important role to the overall health of your tree. Each aggregate has a job and together they create the best soil mixture on the market! Our Soil mixture is not made with black soil, it is made with substrates/ aggregates. ⚉Why don't we use black soil? 🤔 Black Soil is especially bad for container grown plants. Black soil is not the ideal soil due to the following reasons: Holds too much water for a long period of time (trees like to dry out a bit in between watering), Attracts weeds, insects and it doesn't allow the root system to breath and can suffocate the root ball. ⚉ What is in our soil mixture? 🧾 1️⃣ Pumice is a volcanic rock, it helps with aeration and water drainage, the roots like to crush these volcanic rocks which helps make them stronger. Pumice is the must have growing medium for a strong and healthy root system. Pumice is a natural volcanic rock with over 70 natural minerals and vitamins that will help your plant build a very strong and healthy root system. 2️⃣ Lava Rock is a volcanic rock, which helps with aeration and water drainage. It's sharp jagged edges help to split larger roots into smaller feeder roots 3️⃣ Calcined clay helps with water retention and adds acidity to your soil mix which plants love. 4️⃣ Pine Bark is an excellent aggregate for nutrient uptake and release.
