Stranded Copper Conductors per ASTM Standards
UL 83 and ULVW-1 Approved
Covered by Heat and Moisture Resistant PVC Insulation, Providing Abrasion Resistance
Suitable For Wet and Dry Applications, With Temperatures That Do Not Exceed 90 Degrees Celcius
Primarily Used For Services, Feeders and Branch Circuits in Commercial or Industrial Applications
APPLICATIONS: THHN/THWN-2 building wire is intended for general purpose applications as defined by the National Electrical Code (NEC). THHN-THWN-2 is permitted for new construction or rewiring for 600-volt applications. Applications requiring Type THHN or THWN-2, the conductor is appropriate for use in wet or dry locations at temperatures not to exceed 90°C or not to exceed 75°C in oil or coolants. Applications requiring Type MTW conductor is appropriate for use in dry locations at 90°C, or not to exceed 60°C in wet locations or where exposed to oils or coolants. Applications requiring Type AWM conductor is appropriate for use at temperatures to not exceed 105°C in dry locations. Most common building wire used often on sub-panels, hot tubs & jacuzzis. FEATURES: THHN copper conductors are designed to be installed without application of a pulling lubricant. All sizes are rated gasoline and oil-resistant. MATERIALS: Jacket is heat and moisture resistant, colored polyvinyl chloride (PVC) insulation, with a clear nylon (polyamide) or UL-listed equal jacket, which provides abrasion resistance. Conductors are stranded soft drawn copper, per ASTM standards STANDARDS: - UL 83 - UL VW-1 - MTW per UL 1063 - ASTM B1, B3, B8 - Federal Spec A-A-59544 SPECIFICATIONS: Conductor Size: 6 AWG THHN Number of Strands: 19 Insulation Thickness: 0.030 x 0.005 inches Overall Diameter: 0.250 inches Net Weight: 0.09 lbs per foot Ampacity: 75 Amps Conductor Size: 8 AWG THHN Number of Strands: 19 Insulation Thickness: 0.030 x 0.004 inches Overall Diameter: 0.230 inches Net Weight: 0.066 lbs per foot Ampacity: 55 Amps
