HIGH SHEAR STRENGTH: 4026 Double Coated Tape is an off-white, open cell foam that offers a strong, permanent bond for various applications. Its conformable foam structure provides long-term holding power at temperatures up to 220°F (104°C). Designed for both interior and exterior use, it features a robust kraft paper liner that protects against humidity and reduces edge roll, making it ideal for industrial applications, die cutting, and automated dispensers.
APPLICABLE SURFACES: The 4026 (1.6mm thickness) Double Sided Foam Tape bonds effectively with various substrates, including aluminum, steel, glass, marble, tile, textured objects, plastics, and hardwoods. However, it’s NOT SUITABLE for painted dry walls, as it may remove wall paint upon removal. Its unique viscoelastic properties provide strong adhesion to both high and low surface energy materials, making it ideal for diverse projects.
PRODUCT APPLICATIONS: 4026 Dual Sided Foam Tape offers strong adhesion, supporting moderate mounting with peel adhesion up to 16 lb/in and tensile strength up to 180 lb/square inch on stainless steel. Ideal for mounting objects like mount interior signs, nameplates, dispensers, air fresheners, acoustic panels, wire clips, picture frames, alarm sensors, and other general interior & exterior mounting applications where the tape will be protected from the environment.
USER GUIDELINES: For optimal bond strength, thoroughly clean surfaces with a 50:50 mixture of isopropyl alcohol and water. Apply tape when temperatures are between 70°F to 100°F (21°C - 38°C), pressing firmly on the surface of tape area for about 30 seconds. Initial tape application to surfaces at temperatures below 50°F (10°C) is not recommended because the adhesive becomes too firm to adhere readily. However, once properly applied, low temperature holding is generally satisfactory.
COST EFFECTIVE & EASY TO USE: 4026 tape is a more affordable alternative. It saves money while delivering reliability, making it a smart choice. Also, this foam tape is designed for convenience, easy to peel and apply, requiring just light pressure for a robust bond. Many users appreciate its quick setup, enabling seamless execution of DIY projects and repairs without hassle. Its reliable performance makes it a trusted choice for both everyday tasks and more demanding uses.
What is Double Coated Tape? In general, double coated tape is composed of a paper, film, or tissue carrier that is coated on both sides with pressure sensitive adhesive. The adhesive is protected by a peel away liner that can be removed at the time of application or left in place until the joining surfaces are ready to be attached. These tapes can be applied by hand or with a dispenser. Double coated tape dispensers are available in a variety of configurations ranging from manual to fully automatic. Applications for double coated tape are found in construction, fabrication, arts, and hobby. Product Features: -. Strong, permanent bond that works well with the open cell foam structure to produce high shear strength. -. High shear adhesive with high temperature resistance. -. Ideal for bonding, attaching, and mounting. -. The foam dampens and prevents vibration. -. Durable foam is ideal for interior mounting applications. -. A firm, acrylic, pressure sensitive adhesive system that features high ultimate bond strength, very good high temperature, solvent resistance and very high shear holding power. Bond strength increases substantially with natural aging. -. For many applications, any one of the products in this grouping will perform satisfactorily when exposed to different chemicals or temperatures. The adhesive offers excellent bond to metal and high surface energy plastics and good temperature and chemical resistance. -. The natural colored foam tape products vary in color from white to light yellow. The color will change to light yellow upon exposure to sunlight (ultraviolet radiation). This color change is normal and does not affect tape performance. -. Bond strength is dependent upon the amount of adhesive to surface contact developed. Firm application pressure helps develop better adhesive contact and improves bond strength.
