Kit Includes: This kit contains one High-Speed Steel (HSS) Plug Tap and one matching HSS Round Die, providing a comprehensive solution for threading and rethreading tasks. The High-Speed Steel Plug Tap is perfect for creating new threads or repairing damaged and jammed ones. Known for its versatility, it is ideal for hand use as well as general machine tapping. This tap performs well with most materials and is suitable for both through holes and blind holes. Plug taps are specifically designed for threading through holes. The High-Speed Steel Round Die is designed for making new threads or rethreading existing ones. Its combination of hardness and toughness ensures excellent wear resistance, making it suitable for general-purpose applications. The die is chamfered on both faces: one side with a 2 to 3-thread chamfer for standard threading and the other with a 1 to 1-1/2-thread chamfer for threading close to a shoulder. Adjustments can be made with a fine-pitch screw, which allows the die to expand or contract as needed. The beveled slot enables easy adjustment when used in a machine holder, providing enhanced precision and usability.
