About Mastercraft Collection CH-53E Super Sea Stallion
The Sikorsky CH-53 Stallion is a medium-lift helicopter used mainly by the US Marine Corps. It is designed for the transportation of equipment, supplies, and troops during the assault phase of an amphibious operation and subsequent operations ashore. Similar in design to the CH-53 Sea Stallion, the CH-53 Stallion adds a third engine and a seventh blade to the main rotor, which enables it to haul loads of up to 7 tons. It is shipboard-compatible and capable of all-weather and day/night operations. It took advantage of a rotary-wing system but featured a conventional helicopter layout with a longer fuselage. It was equipped with a centralized support system under the fuselage body that allowed it to carry larger, heavier loads. During combat situations, it is extremely useful for its capability to retrieve downed aircraft.
