About Airfix Vintage Classics Hawker Hurricane MK I 1:24

At the outbreak of WWII, the RAF had over 500 Hawker Hurricanes in their squadrons. They may not have had the most speed or best manuevering compared the Spitfire, but the manufacturing line and repair were quick and easy to fix. Over the course of production, more than 14,000 Hawker Hurricanes were built. Because of its reliability, being flown in missions for ground attacks and less directly in dogfights, the plane demonstrated that even being heavier and slower than most of its counterparts, it could still continue to serve in a beneficial roles in the Royal Air Force especially when facing the enemy in the cover of night. The MK I model features the first production of Hurricanes that sported both fabric covered wings and then were revised to feature metal covered wings with better armor and several other improvements over the beginning stages of as the production was increased.
