She is often referred to as a "color guru" because of her keen eye for color, texture, and balance. Shayla is well-known for her event design and entertaining talents. She has designed and implemented more than 50 major events, including the Arkansas Inaugural Ball. In 2015, Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson appointed Shayla to the Arkansas Governor' s Mansion Commission . As a commissioner, she has worked with the state's first family on the mansion's renovation and design. Her firm has donated countless hours to the mansion project, winning national recognition in 2017 during the Designer of the Year awards for the Interior Design Society. Shayla's work has been featured in print regionally and nationally. She can be seen at industry events as well as various markets and conferences making trend forecasts, speaking on panel discussions, and is serving as a Style Spotter in 2019 for the High Point Market Authority.
