Question Why do they appear so small? How can I expect them to fit my child for more than a year or two? This answer is simple. High quality swim diapers are nothing like regular cloth diapers! They appear smaller because they are smaller! Here are several reasons why they need to be smaller and they will fit your child up to 36lbs if you fit them correctly 1)Firstly they are immersed into water. This means the seal on the legs and the waist is super important to be firm fitting. If not it will not contain a poop when it arrives and poo particles will be flushed out the legs along with the existing water 2)Secondly they are not meant to hold wee therefore a good swim diaper won't contain any padding. If it contains padding it will become heavy and pull down on the leg seals and cause a poo leak 3)Our diapers are no smaller in design than ANY other brand that caters for this same age range. Compare them if you don't believe us! It's all about the fitting. Our super stretchy edging is so comfortable it is specifically designed to be pulled and secured firmly and be comfortable for the child while creating a good seal to prevent water entering and poop leaking. If the diaper is designed any larger it will not serve its purpose for all children that are in their diaper years. We think 36lbs (average 42 mnth child) is plenty large enough as most children are potty trained by this stage. If it is any larger it will not work effectively for their younger years. 4)Another important note is a child is at their chunkiest around the 12 months of age. Once they start running around and becoming active they lean out and only increase in height for the next couple of years! Our diaper works perfectly to adapt to this growth.
