Also featured are the actual factory production approval sheets by Leonardo Fioravanti and Nicola Materazzi, as filed with the Italian government. You will also find a chassis by chassis register of every 288 GTO built, including destroyed prototypes, production cars, and GTO Evoluziones - in fact all 284 cars ever built. The Ferrari 288 GTO (Gran Turismo Omologato), was the car that Enzo Ferrari expected to cause "love at first sight", with its iconic body styling by Pininfarana design chief, Leonardo Fioravante. This car, built at the Ferrari factory in Modena, Italy, is probably the most revered and sought after Ferrari ever built, and its iconic status is assured by its performance, rarity and beauty. Review "Whether you are fortunate enough to own one, are planning to buy one, or simply dream of hopefully seeing one in person in your lifetime, you owe it to your Petrolista self to pick up a copy of The Book of the 288 GTO by Joe Sackey. Five years in the making, this is without a doubt the most comprehensive, most researched book on this legendary Ferrari ... makes a great addition to any enthusiast's automotive bookshelf." - Petrolicious "Author Sackey follows up his brilliant Miura book with this great read on Ferrari's 288 GTO. It covers the car's background, design, production and legacy. There's a foreword by the chief engineer, plus you get full stats, reproductions of magazine reviews and stunning photos." - Auto Express "Joe has figured out how to create a book with 325 photos of essentially the same car and still make it interesting ... it's difficult to imagine what further information on the car might fill the pages - as good a reason as any to pick up Joe's book and fill in that empty slot in your Ferrari bookshelf." - Veloce Today About the Author Joe Sackey has been a Ferrari and Lamborghini owner and enthusiast for over 20 years. His previous work includes The Lamborghini Miura Bible and he writes regularly at club and magazine levels. Joe operates as an international Ferrari Supercar Specialist, and has owned many classic cars including Lamborghini Miuras, Countach variants, Ferrari F40s and 288 GTOs, giving him a wealth of knowledge and experience. He organised the first-ever Miura Reunion in Monterey, California in 2000, and also facilitated the sale of the first million dollar Lamborghini, the Miura Roadster, in 2006. He organised and sponsored the 25th Anniversary Reunion of the Ferrari 288 GTO, held during the famed Monterey Week in 2009. As an archivist and historian, he has become closely involved with the International Lamborghini Registry, and often lends his considerable experience to others looking to locate and restore that special car. Joe lives in Laguna Niguel, California with his wife Margaret, their three children, and a few old classics.
