About Steel City 54151CFB-BHL Pre-Galvanized Steel
From the Manufacturer The Steel City 56111CFB-BHL is a pre-galvanized steel round Ceiling fan box with an bar hanger, C-5 non-metallic cable clamps, and 1/2-Inch knockouts. It has a 4-Inch diameter and is 1-1/2-Inch deep with a 15.8-Cubic-Inch capacity. It has three 1/2-Inch knockouts strategically placed on the box. When installing this box you first adjust the bar hanger to the length of spacing between the wood ceiling joists and position the end-plates so they are flush with the wood stud. Next use a hammer to strike the engaging spurs into the wood ceiling joist, this provides temporary support until you are able to screw in the wood screws that are provided. Use the wood screws provided to secure the hanger using the two holes provided on each end of the plates. After you install the bar hanger, align and fasten the box support bracket along the hanger where the outlet box is to be mounted on the hanger. Next, attach the ceiling fan box by aligning the two holes on either side of the bottom center knockout with the two holes in the box support bracket by driving the provided 10 -32 x 1/2-Inch fan mounting screws with the lockwashers into each of the two holes through the box fastener.
