About Novena To Saint Sharbel

Youssef Makhlouf was born in Bekaa Kafra, a small mountain village in Lebanon, on May 8, 1828. At the age of 23, he left his home and village to start his life at the monastery. He chose the name of “Sharbel” in honor of a second century martyr in the Antiochene Church. He spent 23 years in the monastery of Saint Maron in Annaya (http://www.saintcharbel.com/) and 23 years at the hermitage of Saints Peter and Paul on a nearby hill. He came to be known as “the saint inebriated with God”. During his life, he not only healed people from physical diseases but also spiritual ones.On October 9, 1977, Saint Pope Paul VI presided over the canonization ceremony of Blessed Sharbel in the Vatican Basilica. Saint Sharbel is now one of the most known saints of the Catholic Church all over the world and hundreds of testimonies about miracles through his intercession are registered yearly at the monastery of Annaya. This book is a short biography of Saint Sharbel and a prayer dedicated to him, in addition to special photos related to places where he lived.https://www.familyofsaintsharbel.org/
