Amazon.com Neeme Järvi's complete recording is marked by a good feel for pacing and color and excellent contributions from its soloists--including, in Knut Buen, a real Hardanger fiddler for the right folkloric touch. This account is melodramatic in the good sense, particularly in the confrontation with the Boyg. The sound is excellent; the only drawback is that the recording takes up two discs. --Ted Libbey
