They have been collecting bears for over thirteen years. Ann was bitten by the “Muffy Bug” about eleven years ago, when she purchased her first Muffy for her daughter’s Christmas present. Eight years ago their bear collection out-grew their home and Ann and Don opened Village Bears & Collectibles in Sarasota, Florida. Frustrated at being unable to answer their customers' many questions about Muffy. Ann decided to compile a VanderBear history as a reference guide for herself. That little project soon got out of hand and after three years of research, that original three page history had grown into a book! Through their web site, Ann has met hundreds of Muffy collectors from all over the world. Many have become cherished friends and each one helped to write this guide to Muffy’s life.
