If the water falls directly from the cloud in the purest form onto the sensor and does not trigger it, then it is sufficient if it runs over a small board or from a canopy. Then the water has absorbed so much dirt that it is electrically conductive and triggers the sensor. Of course, install the sensor at an angle so that the water continues to runs down.
