This convenient kit includes coil threaded inserts for metal (also known as wire thread inserts or helical threaded inserts), an STI tap, and a thread insert installation tool. The 18-8 stainless steel threaded inserts are resistant to corrosion and can withstand temperatures to 800°F. Designed for use with soft metals such as aluminum, cast iron, magnesium, etc. An ideal solution for repairing or reinforcing tapped holes in metal. Coil thread inserts compress during installation and the compression secures the insert into place and keeps it from backing out. Coil thread inserts require a special tap and installation tool.
