πππππ« ππ¬π¬π is a one-component acetoxy cure silicone sealant that can be used for a variety of common sealing and glazing jobs. It has good adhesion and may be used on a variety of non-porous building materials. One of the most notable advantages of acetoxy sealants is that they dry much faster than neutral cure silicone β in fact, acetoxy silicone frequently becomes tack-free in minutes, however, it is crucial to note that it may take up to 24 hours to fully cure. Finally, acetoxy's quick dry time is an advantage, especially for those working on a deadline-driven project. ππ‘π¦π§π₯π¨ππ§ππ’π‘π¦ βοΈEnsure that surfaces to be sealed are clean, dry and grease-free. βοΈThe application temperature must be between +41Β°F and +104Β°F. βοΈ In order to reduce the deformations of the joints, their depth must be much less than their width, the minimum dimensions are 0.19x0.19 in. , for wider joints, the depth should be preferably half of the width and it is adjusted by the use of backup material. βοΈAfter the application, the sealant must be tooled with light pressure within 5 minutes to spread the material against the joint surfaces and to obtain a professional finish. βοΈ Excess uncured sealant may be cleaned with solvent. Cured sealant can be removed barely mechanically. βοΈ0.23 in. joint depth is recommended for joint widths between 0.23 in. to 0.47 in. βοΈJoint width and depth ratio should be about 2:1. π₯ππ¦π§π₯πππ§ππ’π‘π¦ βοΈ It must not be used in totally confined spaces where sealant cannot cure due to lack of atmospheric moisture. βοΈ Not recommended to use on porous surfaces like marble, natural stone, concrete etc. βοΈ Because of acidic curing, it must not be used on mirrors and sensitive metals like copper, brazen, or lead. βοΈ Not over paintable. βοΈ Do not use in conjunction with bitumen asphalt, neoprene and certain organic elastomers. βοΈ It is not suitable for food contact applications. βοΈ Do not contact with water.
