FRANC CARDINAL RODÉ Signature of the Archbishop of Ljuglijana Signature: "Franc Card. Rodé", 4¼x2½. Slovenian Catholic prelate Franc Rodé (b. 1934) fled his homeland, then part of Yugoslavia, in 1945, but served his church in lay capacities until ordained as a priest in 1960. In 1965, he returned to Yugoslavia, serving as a professor of theology at the Theological Faculty of Ljublijana. Appointed Consultor of the Secretariat for Non-Believers within the Vatican curia in 1978, he engaged in notable dialogues with European Marxists. In 1997, he became Archbishop of Lublijana, and thus de facto primate of Slovenia. He was elevated to Cardinal in 2006. Pencil note (unknown hand) at top margin.
