T. STANHOPE FLOURNOY. Signature: "T. Stanhope Flournoy/Virginia", 2¾x3¾, irregularly cut paper. Whig Congressman from 1847-1849, Flournoy twice ran for Governor of Virginia (1855, 1863). He was a member of the Virginia secession convention in 1861 at Richmond. He entered the Confederate Army, raised a company of cavalry and served as Captain, being promoted to Colonel of the Sixth Virginia Cavalry. Nicked lower left edge. Shaded edges.
