First flown in 1976, Hughes Helicopters developed the 500MD Defender in response to the success of the OH-6 Cayuse in Vietnam. It was initially designed for special light-duty missions, including unarmed observation. As time went on, the Defender was modified for various uses, including anti-tank warfare, nighttime attacks and for maritime combat. It was most famously used by Israel's Air Force in the 1970s and 1980s in conflicts against Syrian armored forces. This limited edition kit features two sets of decal markings for the Israeli Air Force. Highly detailed model kit includes waterslide decals and illustrated instructions. Paint colors needed: Black, Silver, Neutral Gray, Steel, Flat Black, Clear, Red, Flesh, Khaki Green, Khaki, Smoke Gray, and RLM79 Sand Yellow.
