About Bachmann 4-4-0 American Locomotive And Tender

From the Manufacturer The 4-4-0 American-class steamer was the most common locomotive in America during the late 19th century and the beginning of the 20th. It was manufactured in large numbers and is credited with connecting the eastern and western United States. This class of locomotive handled both freight and passenger trains and it’s use was so universal that it became known as the “American Standard” or simply “American”. Ths particular locomotive wears the paint scheme of the Union Pacific "American" that was present for the golden spike ceremony joining the transcontinental railroad in 1869.
