Its exclusive Omnipolar® technology and extremely high-performance components will simply blow you away. Omnipolar Technology Fitted to a Watershed Design Omnipolar technology uses the walls of your room to create a huge, immersive sound regardless of placement Inside each durable polycarbon MX speaker enclosure, you'll find a .63-inch pure titanium hybrid tweeter for precise, rich high frequencies and a 2.5-inch aluminum woofer for low distortion midrange & bass performance. Each two-way MX speaker has a maximum power handling of 100 watts, allowing it to work well with a wide variety of amplifiers. The MX speaker is finished in stylish high-gloss black with an elegant cloth grill which attaches and removes magnetically. The integrated dual key-way mount provides for wall or optional stand mounting (stands sold separately). However, the fact that Mirage was able to apply its unique Omnipolar® technology to a product this size is the most impressive feature of all--it's what makes this small speaker sound huge and immersive. The Science Behind the Mirage Sound Omnipolar technology in Mirage's speaker design brings unprecedented performance to a variety of product sizes and room positions. This 360º sound philosophy works with your room, rather than against it, to create the proper proportion of direct and reflected sound. Being Omnipolar means Mirage speakers embrace and optimize reflections to offer excellent imaging, width and depth, and perform optimally regardless of where they are placed in a room. In other words, they take full advantage of the fact they cannot be separated from your room. You get a completely immersive experience that permeates evenly throughout your entire listening environment. The Omniguide module--the heart of Omnipolar sound--is an ingenious design that involves two deflectors. While one small deflector rests on top of the speaker's tweeter, the tweeter itself is housed in a larger deflector, suspended over the midrange or woofer, depending on the design. The module disperses sound the way the ear and brain are accustomed to receiving it. Thirty percent of what Mirage speakers deliver is direct sound. The other seventy percent is sound reflected off of walls, ceilings, floors and other surfaces for a completely immersive, 360º experience. So no matter where you sit, you're enveloped in sound.
