BIOCUPS are made with 70% bagasse, which is a byproduct of sugar cane and 30% wood pulp. In order to make the cups watertight, they are lined with PLA (Polylactic Acid) which is made from plant-based materials such as corn starch or sugar cane. PLA is known as a bioplastic because these materials are made from renewable resources, and turn into rich fertilizer when properly disposed. Our lids are made with 100% Crystallized Polylactic Acid (CPLA), a biodegradable thermoplastic derived from corn starch made specially for high-temperature uses and the stirring sticks are made of 100% percent birch wood. BIOCUPS cups are FDA (Food and Drug Administration) approved, and have been certified Compostable by the Biodegradable Products Institute (BPI) and DIN CERTCO.We strive to bring you the best, at no cost to the planet!
