About Prince Double-Acting Tie-Rod Hydraulic

This Prince tie-rod hydraulic cylinder is an actuator for converting hydraulic power into mechanical motion. It is a double-acting cylinder with two hydraulic ports for both extension and retraction of the rod. The ports are Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) size 8. It has clevis mounts on both ends with Unified Fine Thread (UNF) threading. It has a high strength tie-rod for large loads, and the piston, butt, gland, and clevis are made of ductile iron for strength and durability. It has RoyalPlate Plus surface plating for resistance to corrosion. This hydraulic cylinder has a maximum operating pressure of 3,000 pounds per square inch (psi).Linear motion actuators are independent units that, when combined with a switch and power source, push or pull loads in a straight line. Actuator types (mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, piezoelectric, electro-mechanical, and telescoping) vary and their application is determined by the power source available, as well as the load and space requirements. Linear motion actuators are used in a variety of applications, such as computer disk drives, deck and implement lifts for tractors, wheelchair lifts on a vehicle, and flow control mechanisms, such as flood gates on a dam.Prince Manufacturing builds hydraulic cylinders, valves, and pumps. The company, founded in 1941, is headquartered in North Sioux City, SD.
