Standard flange gaskets are fabricated to be compatible with ASME/ANSI pipe flanges in accordance with dimensional criteria shown in API Standards 601 and 605. Sterling Seal supplied NSF-61 is a Compressed Sheet with Aramid Fibers, NBR Binder; It is a very good general service gasket material that has numerous applications in the process industries and in the water and wastewater industry. It is extremely cost comparable to our standard green or blue gasket material (CNA); can be used in all the same applications with the added benefit of being NSF-61 Certified. It is also commonly used in equipment such as valves and pumps. NSF-61 approved gasket material was developed to allow compliance for drinking water system components, from source to tap. Certification to NSF-61 provides assurance to a highest level that Sterling Seal supplied-NSF-61 gasket materials are safe for use in drinking water service. An added benefit is that Sterling supplied NSF-61 has a strong dielectric rating, making it ideal for isolation kit applications where compressed fiber sheet gaskets can be utilized. NSF-61 gasket material is specifically formulated to pass criteria established in NSF-61 for sealing materials, as well as providing excellent resistance to conductivity.
