4 Types of Shaft Packing:- Standard flax packing is braided from quality roving and then impregnated with a generous amount of natural wax lubrication. Traditional, economical packing. Rated to 176deg;F; rotation speed of 2,000 ft./min. Color is yellowish-brown- Teflon (PTFE)/Flax packing is braided from strong roving impregnated with Teflon. Offers high performance and extended packing life. Rated to 482deg;F; rotation speed of 2,400 ft./min. Color is off-white- Tefpack synthetic shaft packing is a unique product. It is constructed from a strong, durable synthetic yarn impregnated with Teflon. This yarn is not subject to attack by mildew, making it rot resistant and providing longer service life and superior performance. Rated to 500deg;F; rotation speed of 3,000 ft./min. Color is dark gray- Graphtex is a blend of ultra-slippery W. L. Gore fibers and graphite braided fibers, impregnated with Teflon to produce a packing that will give the ultimate level of performance. This packing has a high thermal conductivity, providing superior heat dissipation and cooler shaft temperatures. Perfect for modern, high RPM applications.
