Invented in the early 1800's, electroplating covers science fundamentals such as chemistry, electricity and mathematics. Our Science Plating Kits support NGSS standards at the Grade Five level in the "Matter and Its Interactions" topic, as well as many others. Our Nickel Science Plating Kit can be used to plate nickel over steel, copper, iron, tin, gold, silver, brass and bronze. Our Nickel Science Plating Kit contains: 1 x One Pint Plastic Beaker One Pint Nickel Plating Solution Two Nickel Anodes 4.5V, 300ma DC Power Supply All required wires Wooden Tank Bar Bare Copper Wire To Hang Parts Instruction Sheet In addition to our kit, you will need: Nitrile or Latex Gloves Eye Protection Beaker of Water for rinsing Cleaning agent (we recommend dish soap and hot water or Simple Green cleaner) The kit can be used multiple times. The anodes will eventually be used up (after approx 10 sq ft of plating), and can be replaced. The Nickel Plating Solution is a mild acid and is quite safe to use. No fume control or face masks are required for use. SDS will be sent with the kit.
