This is one of only very few propane/ Mapp Gas torches that will work properly for melting soft glass for making glass beads and other ornaments. Plumber's torches do not work, but only darken your glass to a muddy color because they don't burn clean enough. Don't make the mistake of purchasing one of those torches for lampworking, or a lampwork kit that provides such a torch. You will be purchasing another torch when you find the plumber's torch does not work properly. This torch sold here by Devardi Glass is a professional torch designed specifically for melting soft glass. It is very similar to the hothead torch but less than half the price. Devardi Glass Propane or Mapp Gas Torch. We have used this torch head extensively and found that it behaves very similarly to the hot head torch. We really could not find a difference in the quality of the flame or our lampwork. We guarantee you will be satisfied with this torch or return it for a full refund.
