About Trend Kitchen Worktop Jig Offset Scribing

The Offset Scriber from Trend can be used to trace the male cut on the worktop. Directions: The drawn line will need to be on the side that the jig is to be positioned for routing. For a right-hand joint, the pencil line needs to be on the underside of the male worktop, and for a left-hand joint, the pencil line needs to be on the top of the male worktop. Cut female joint as normal, following the instructions supplied with the worktop jig, then lay male piece on top for right hand joint or underneath for left hand joint. Use the Offset Scriber to trace the female cut by pushing the tool body down so the spring-loaded pencil contacts the worktop. The pencil line on the center worktop will show the final cut line. If the worktop is dark, place masking tape on worktop and draw onto this. Lay jig onto worktop and align the correct edge of the slot on the jig to the pencil line, clamp jig securely and then cut the male joint following the instructions supplied with the worktop jig. Size=1 7/8 inch x 5/8 inch x 5/32 inch. For board thickness =5/16 inch - 5/32 inch.
