About A Life Transplanted
A young scientist moves from Cincinnati to Deerfield Illinois to join a new pharmaceutical company and run a new department tasked with writing new drug applications. His primary mission becomes the development of Prograf (tacrolimus), a novel agent for prevention of rejection after liver transplantation. This novel follows the clinical development of Prograf through marketing application. It picks up some 20 years later when the scientist is in need of a liver transplant and explores the patient's side of drug development.
