Description Place value chips (disks) are non-proportional models that can be used once students have a solid understanding of our place value system. Colored chips with values imprinted on them allow students to develop strategies based on properties, reinforce traditional algorithms, and build understanding of the meanings of mathematical operations and other topics such as rounding to the nearest. These color counters help students learn counting, addition, subtraction, grouping, and other early math skills in a hands-on way! This set comes in 10 assorted colors and is marked with values- yellow is marked 0.001, turquoise is marked 0.01, brown is marked 0.1, light blue is marked 1, pink is marked 10, green is marked 100, purple is marked 1,000, dark blue is marked 10,000, gold is marked 100,000 and hot pink is marked 1,000,000. Each disk measures 1 ½” and displays values from 0.001 to 1,000,000. These place value disks are made of a soft foam materials, which makes them light weight and easy to clean. This classroom set includes 875 place value disks and is enough for 30 students.
