About Star Wars Episode Iii: Revenge Of The Sith

Product Description Limited double kelly green and opaque cyan vinyl LP pressing in gatefold jacket. Available for the first time ever as a standalone vinyl record, the limited edition 1000 copy pressing keeps with I Am Shark's variant color theme found on their previous Star Wars vinyl releases, and is available in the General Grievous variant, an alternating mix of transparent kelly green and intense opaque cyan that emulate the fearsome quadruple lightsaber wielding cyborg. Opening up the gatefold jacket reveals an ominous photo of the newly anointed Darth Vader and The Emperor looking out at the face at the growing Empire at the conclusion of Episode III. This beautiful edition is simply a must have for Star Wars fans, vinyl hounds, and collectors alike. Originally released on CD alongside the movie in 2005, the Episode III: Revenge of the Sith soundtrack features a score by five-time Oscar winner John Williams, who is also the composer and conductor of the score for each film in the 9 - chapter Star Wars saga. The score found on the Episode III soundtrack is decidedly darker than previous Star Wars prequel soundtracks, as the musical themes match the growing darkness woven into the story and the galaxy as the Empire consolidates it's power at the conclusion of the prequel trilogy. Many of the heroic, anthemic themes woven throughout Episode Three: Revenge of the Sith will nonetheless be very familiar to any fan of the series, from the "Imperial March" to the main theme. Review We finally come to the conclusion of the flawed prequel trilogy and I have to say, the finale wasn t bad and certainly the music, still by Williams, was impressive, certainly for me the best in the trilogy. As usual the score opens with it s usual fanfare in Star Wars And The Revenge Of The Sith and it s interesting because the main fanfare is continued by another fanfare, the climax happens when the fanfares mix. This score is a lot darker than the two previous scores and I feel the darkness embrace Star Wars and the other way around. It works and dark Star Wars music is undeniably great. It is also by far the strongest opening cue of the trilogy. It s dark, action-filled and exciting. Anakin s theme gets a reprise in Anakin s Theme and I still love that theme, unquestionable undeniable love. Brilliant. It s a dark but romantic theme as well. Romance with the dark side perhaps. You feel already here that the darkness is upon us. Geek Score: 100 Total Minutes Of Excellence: 70.8 Album Excellence: 100 --Soundtrack Geekthe score is good - there are two main new themes: Battle of the Heroes is the climactic music used for the duel between Anakin and Obi-Wan, and there's a sorrowful tragic theme used to underscore the deteriorating relationships with, well, just about everybody. The album opens with the main title, Star Wars and The Revenge of the Sith. Unlike the previous two prequel soundtracks, the music heard after the opening title crawl is actually from the opening sequence in the film. A rousing action cue with punctuated brass and tense strings plays out as we follow Obi-Wan and Anakin as they fly their fighters on a rescue mission. It's a great way to start the album, and the film. Like most Williams albums, this soundtrack is not presented in film order, and many of the cues are heard in different pieces in the film itself. Anakin's Dream starts out with a soft rendition of the Love Theme from Episode II, with a flute and solo violin providing a counter melody, as Anakin and Padme reaffirm their secret love for one another. It gets darker and more dissonant when Anakin starts having his dreams of Padme's death, though. String work is slow and heavy, as things calm down. --Soundtrack.netRevenge of the Sith is a continuation of high quality writing from Williams that puts other contemporary film scores to shame. --Film Tracks
